UseIn (User Involvement in Service Innovations)

The project aims to increase understanding of user involvement in the service innovation process and thus advance Finnish organizations´ abilities to create user-oriented service innovations by multidisciplinary approach. The project consists of the following research topics:p>

  • 1. Forms and environments of user participation
  • 2. User communities as sources of innovations
  • 3. Developer perspective in human-centered design process
  • 4. Motivation and attraction factors
  • 5. Participation experience and user perceived value
  • 6. User segmentation based on participation profiles

The above mentioned research themes will also guide empirical research in various service contexts of public and private services including travelling services (Tallink-Silja), insurance services (If), media (Kaleva-kustannus) and public services (Vuores district).

The partners of the research project are CIRCMI and Journalism Research and Development Centre from the University of Tampere and VTT Technical Research Centre.
